David M. Vance graduated from Morehead State University, Kentucky in 1975 with a bachelor of arts degree. In 1995 Pastor Vance and his wife were called to do ministry on the water and in marinas, and became members of Christian Boaters Association, or CBA. Out of that ministry, the Vances created a non-profit corporation ministry called, "Kairos Sea Ministries Inc." KSM ministered to those who were live aboard boaters, whether they lived in a marina or anchored out in Boot Key Harbor in the Florida Keys. KSM also did mission trips using our 38 foot sail boat to the Bahamas delivering Bibles, clothes, electronic sound equipment, and children's Sunday school material and children's prizes and toys. They also had church services and Bible studies on a 51 foot ketch, refered to as the chuch boat or in the marina. As a result many came to the Lord and were batized on the beach in Marathon, part of the Florida Keys. (See Picture) In 1991 David became a licensed minister under the Church of God out of Anderson, Indiana. In 2004 Huricane Francis destroyed their boat and ended their boating ministry.
David moved on from the boating ministry and accepted a senior pastoral position in Sylacauga, Alabama. About a year later pastor Vance became a associate pastor at Rock Crusher Road First Church of God, in Crystal River Florida. While being an associate pastor, David was ordained in 2007 by the Church of God. 2008 Pastor Vance was called to Palatka Florida to be the senior pastor of the Palatka First Church of God. In 2010, pastor Ben asked pastor Vance to be his associate and head up the children's ministries, help with the youth department and the music department.
